Repairs completed on two boat ramps in northeast Nebraska parks

LINCOLN, Neb. – Boating prospects in northeast Nebraska are looking up with the completion of two state park area projects in 2020. The completion of a second boat ramp at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area’s Weigand Marina will alleviate long lines of boats waiting to put in or take out. Ponca State Park boat ramp to close for construction Oct. 14

LINCOLN, Neb. – Ponca State Park’s boat ramp will be closed until further notice effective Oct. 14 so work can begin to replace it. The ramp was severely damaged during the 2019 high Missouri River flows, prompting the need to rebuild it. Calamus’ Nunda Shoal boat ramp to close temporarily Sept. 29

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nunda Shoal boat ramp at Calamus Reservoir State Recreation Area in Loup County will close temporarily starting Sept. 29 so that contractors can repair the damaged ramp. Boat ramp now open at Indian Cave State Park

LINCOLN, Neb. – The boat ramp at Indian Cave State Park is open for use following repairs. During the brief closure, silt was removed from the area, a guardrail was replaced and riprap was repaired along the bank. An entry permit is required of each vehicle entering Indian Cave State Park, which is located in Nemaha and Richardson counties. I have seen a lot of funny things happen at boat ramps.  The hotter, busier the boat ramp, the better it gets. Watched a fiberglass inboard/outboard get deposited about ten feet short of the water one time.  The crunching sound sent shivers up my back.
