Combodacious

Got to share some photos with you today.  Fall is a a great time to both hunt and fish in Nebraska!  To prove it, my friend Steve has been telling me about the success he and his grandson have been having this fall.  First, they slipped up to the Gavins Point tailwaters to snag a paddlefish.

Paddlefish2013

In spite of government shut-downs and predictions of the flood gates being open and the best paddlefish snagging area being off-limits to anglers, the gates have remained closed and the reports I have heard from paddlefish snaggers have been excellent.  They are catching lots of paddlefish and sorting through fish until they find a legal-size one to which they want to attach their tag.

Then Steve and his grandson, and a friend, teamed up to drop the hammer on some fall turkeys.

Yep, that is the same red sweatshirt, I am told a favorite sweatshirt, and the turkeys did not know better.  Why not?  Why take the chance on changing out the lucky sweatshirt?  Go Huskers!

I am betting those kids had an excellent guide.  Thanks for sharing Steve, thanks for getting those kids out there!  Well done!
