Conestoga Aquatic Habitat Rehabilitation Project, II

Last week I blogged about the public open house for the upcoming Conestoga Aquatic Habitat Rehabilitation project.  Anytime we have a meeting or open house we realize that only a certain number of folks will be able to attend.  For those of you who could not make it, I want to provide you with some of the facts from last week’s open house.  Here is the fact sheet that was available last week:

And here is a preliminary conceptualized map of what the project will look like.  Keep in mind that this is just a conceptual map, it is NOT the final plan, but it will give you a very good idea of the kind of things that will be done at Conestoga.

As you can see from the proposed schedule on the fact sheet, yes, Conestoga will be “out of commission” for a couple of years.  Yes, there will be hardship, but if our experience with our Aquatic Habitat Program has taught us anything over the past 15+ years, it is that there will be short-term sacrifice for long-term gain.  Eventually Conestoga will be back and the fishing will be better than ever!
