Family Fishing Event at Carter Lake on Aug. 6

LINCOLN – Omaha families can join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for an evening of fun at a Family Fishing Event on Aug. 6 at Carter Lake.

The Family Fishing Trailer will be parked near the south parking lot on the east side of the lake, off Abbott Drive. The event runs from 6-8 p.m.

Family Fishing Events provide opportunities for people of all ages who have never fished or have not fished in years to learn and enjoy the activity. Rods and reels, as well as bait and fishing instruction, will be available for free. Appropriate fishing and park permits are required.

The remaining schedule of Family Fishing Events for this summer, with each scheduled from 6-8 p.m.:

Aug. 4 – Seward, Independence Landing; Aug. 5 – Pawnee City, Pond Park; Aug. 6 – Grand Island, Mormon Island State Recreation Area Lake No. 1; Aug. 11 – Papillion, Halleck Park Lake; Aug. 12 – Lincoln, Holmes Lake; Aug. 13 – York, Recharge Lake
