Rapala Factory

I found this on the internet:

If you ask me I will tell you that my favorite bait or lure is whatever is the right tool for the job, whatever the fish are biting on.  And, if you have been reading my blog for any time you have probably heard me say that I am not sponsored nor endorsed by any fishing tackle manufacturers.

But I really, really like Rapalas!

After buying that many Rapala baits, I should own stock in the company.  Rapala makes a variety of baits, and I will always tell you that every bait or lure ever made will catch a fish in the right place at the right time.  Different baits and presentations are only different tools for different jobs.  Rapala makes a lot of different tools and I will guarantee that a number of their tools will help you catch fish, no matter where you fish, no matter what you fish for.

In a previous blog post I posted a video about the Lauri Rapala story, The Rapala Story, and I speculated that one reason Rapala baits have been so successful over the years is that ole Lauri figured out a way to appeal to the fish’s lateral line, Can You Feel Me Now? .  Recently I found another video on the internet about the Rapala company and their factory in Finland.

I have toured the Hershey Chocolate Factory in Pennsylvania and the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Factory in Iowa.  I believe I would be every bit the “kid in a candy shop” in the Rapala factory in Finland!

By the way, fellow Nebraskans, it is “RAP-a-luh” NOT “Ra-PAUL-uh” (wink).
