Several park improvement projects this year will increase opportunity at Nebraska Game and Parks in northeast Nebraska, while others recently completed addressed lingering effects of the destructive 2019 flood. Repairs completed on two boat ramps in northeast Nebraska parks

LINCOLN, Neb. – Boating prospects in northeast Nebraska are looking up with the completion of two state park area projects in 2020. The completion of a second boat ramp at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Area’s Weigand Marina will alleviate long lines of boats waiting to put in or take out. Ponca State Park boat ramp to close for construction Oct. 14

LINCOLN, Neb. – Ponca State Park’s boat ramp will be closed until further notice effective Oct. 14 so work can begin to replace it. The ramp was severely damaged during the 2019 high Missouri River flows, prompting the need to rebuild it. Visitors looking for local river access can still use the boat ramp located at Ponca State Park’s North Addition, which is approximately 5 miles north of the main park.
