LINCOLN – The 2014 Big Game Guide is available in digital format at the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s website, OutdoorNebraska.org. The publication is a summary of regulations, laws and orders pertaining to the hunting of deer, antelope, elk and bighorn sheep in Nebraska. Boating Safety Courses Offered Throughout Nebraska

LINCOLN – Nebraskans preparing for a summer of boating fun should be aware of the state’s boater education requirements. State law requires that any motorboat operator, including personal watercraft operators, born after Dec. 31, 1985, complete a boating safety course. Those operators also must be in possession of a course certificate when operating the boat. Persons must be at least 14 years of age to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft in Nebraska. National Walk at Lunch Day Raises $5,000 for Trails at Nebraska State Parks

LINCOLN — Walkers from schools, businesses and other organizations raised $5,000 for the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation on National Walk at Lunch Day on April 30. Hundreds of walkers from 468 schools and businesses across the state participated in the annual event, sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska. For every school, business or organization that participated in the event, Blue Cross and Blue Shield donated $20 to the Game and Parks Foundation and the Special Olympics. …

LINCOLN – Birders of all experience levels are invited to join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for the Northeast District Birding Day on May 20 at Grove Lake Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Arnold Wins 2014 Cornhusker Cup

DONIPHAN – Nathan Arnold of Omaha Creighton Prep on Saturday won the Cornhusker Cup at the 45th Cornhusker Trapshoot. Combined with his perfect 75 shot Friday, Arnold earned the overall Cup with a two-day 148-for-150 after shooting a 73 in excellent conditions in the handicap Saturday. “I was a little bit nervous,” the senior said. “That’s what made it fun, though. Krzyzanowski Wins 16-Yard Title at Cornhusker Trapshoot

DONIPHAN – Zack Krzyzanowski of North Platte won a five-person shoot-off Friday in the senior high division’s 16-yard targets at the 45th Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot. He broke all 75 targets in regulation, and then missed just one in the shoot-off. The top 20 scorers Friday missed one target or less. Voigtman Wins Junior High Division at Cornhusker Trapshoot

DONIPHAN – Dagen Voigtman of Louisville won the junior high division at the 45th Cornhusker Trapshoot on Thursday at the home grounds of the Nebraska Trapshooting Association. He broke 98 of 100 targets at 16 yards to win the title. Voigtman earned two first-place trophies. He led the Louisville Gold squad of Ryan Campbell, Baylor Meisinger, Spencer Warner and Chase Dittberner to the team title. Together they broke 435 of 500 targets.
