Gotta Get One of These!

TwoWalleyes

I have been watching the Head to Head Fishing Pro Walleye Series on Lake McConaughy all week.  Two techniques have accounted for most fish.  Both techniques are somewhat uniquely Nebraskan.  In fact it could be argued that they have been perfected if not developed in Nebraska.  Trolling has been one of the winning techniques, including trolling leadcore with big, heavy spinnerbaits–definitely a Nebraska technique.  The other winning presentation has been vertical jigging with slab spoons, “slabbing”–another technique more popular in …

Dad Songs

DSCN4666

You have heard of “dad jokes”; in fact you probably have a few. I was reviewing some tunes the other day and realized I also have a repertoire of “dad songs”.  You know what I am talking about.  Your kids roll their eyes too. Robinson Reports: Over the Hump

It finally seems that the cold wintery weather has disappeared. Right now, we’re taking what we can get. Water temps across the central Nebraska region have slowly been rising, only to be pushed back down at times by …

Adventure Report, June 5, 2013

A couple of months ago I warned that I would be “out of the office” as much as possible.  Well, I have been; have enjoyed this spring immensely.  In fact I have enjoyed it so much that I have not given a fishing report recently.  Time to get caught up. . . . Lewis & Clark To start, I have to go back a couple weeks, back before the Memorial Day holiday.  Some of the Nebraska Walleye Association folks, http://www.nebraskawalleye.com/ …
