The road to the Hershey Beach boat ramp at Sutherland Reservoir State Recreation Area near Sutherland will be closed until further notice starting Nov. 17 so repairs to the boat ramp may begin. Significant erosion, caused by water and wave action, needs to be addressed before further damage occurs to the ramp. Repairs are expected to take up to two weeks, depending on weather conditions. The floating playground at Louisville State Recreation Area will not reopen for the season after the inflatables sustained damage during an incident in mid-August. Eight of the playground’s 70 floating pieces were damaged Aug. 11 and became partially submerged. During inspections and repair of that damage, additional damage requiring repairs was discovered. Users of that area should be aware of repairs there that will result in temporary closures. Originally scheduled for June 22-24, the contractor now has rescheduled the work for June 27-29. LINCOLN, Neb. – Repairs begin this week on the boat ramp area at Indian Cave State Park, including silt removal, guardrail replacement and repairing the riprap along the banks of the area. The boat ramp remains closed until this work is completed, which is estimated to be two to three weeks. An entry permit is required of each vehicle entering Indian Cave State Park.
