LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will consider recommendations for 2020 deer, antelope and elk hunting seasons when it meets May 8 in Lincoln. LINCOLN, Neb. – The 2020 mountain lion hunting season in the Pine Ridge closed March 31 with seven mountain lions harvested. Season 1 opened Jan. 2. LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials have confirmed that a mountain lion reported within the city limits of Gordon was killed by the Gordon Police Department on the evening of Monday, Nov. 5. The response was consistent with Game and Parks’ policy for addressing occurrences of mountain lions in municipalities. The policy may be found in the Nebraska Mountain Lion Response Plan. Up to 640 permits will be issued via lottery by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, which has received 435 applications as of Sept. 23. LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials have confirmed that a female mountain lion was killed by a landowner north of Hay Springs in Sheridan County for depredating poultry. The landowner observed the mountain lion killing his chickens, shot and killed the 10- to 12-month-old mountain lion, and immediately reported to Game and Parks in accordance with state law. LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials have confirmed that a male mountain lion killed a calf near Hay Springs in Sheridan County. The owner of the land where the calf was killed contacted Game and Parks officials on May 30 after finding the carcass. LINCOLN — Omaha police shot and killed a mountain lion near 120th and Q streets in Millard Wednesday evening.
