One thing I try to do here on my blog is keep folks informed of what is going on concerning fish and aquatic resources in Nebraska.  Good news or bad news, people need to know and if you love to fish you want to know. Today’s post gives me no pleasure.  It is bad news.  But again, folks need to know. . . . So, this news release finally went out yesterday.  You may have heard it already, it is …

Fine Fish

IMG_0141

A month ago I blogged about a Nebraskaland story that highlighted Fort Robinson as Nebraska’s Fishing State Park.  Justin Haag wrote that story.  At the time it was published, I knew there was a companion story to come.  Well, it is here.  This one reviews the history of the waters and fisheries around Ft. Rob, and the Crawford Fish Hatchery.  Justin did a great job and it is a great story.  Follow the link and read it! Fort Robinson Exceptional …

Adventure Report, Wedding Trip

P8170016 (2)

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I would be “outta the office” for some time for my daughter’s wedding.  I also hinted that we were making a little trip for the wedding and that the fishing gear was definitely going along.  Time to give you a report. . . . That trip was to one of our favorite places, western Nebraska.  More specifically, we spent some time at Ft. Robinson.  The wedding went great, we had a great time …

One of the biggest Aquatic Habitat rehabilitation projects we are working on right now is out at Ft. Robinson.  Yes, that is way out in northwest Nebraska, and yes, you should make a trip there sometime!  There are a lot of fishing opportunities in and near Ft. Robinson, as well as a ton of other things to see and do.  Oh, and it is some of the purdiest country in the state! Some of the fishing my family and I …

Fall Tour

img_0425a

I had some meetings to attend “out west” a couple of weeks ago.  That gave me a chance to re-visit some places I do not get to nearly enough.  Fall is one of the prettiest times to be there.  I had to stop and catch my breath when I finally saw the end of the road. The view was just as pretty looking back from whence I had just come. Here is one of the cathedrals I visited. And looking …
