Game and Parks wins 11 awards at annual ACI conference

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission earned 11 awards at the Association for Conservation Information annual conference held July 24-27 in Nashville, Tenn. The awards recognized excellence in outreach, education and communications. ACI is a nonprofit organization of natural resources communicators representing wildlife conservation and parks and natural resource agencies. Its annual awards contest recognizes excellence and promotes craft improvement through peer critiques. Game and Parks’ Remund, Seitz honored for work in quail management

LINCOLN, Neb. – Two Nebraska Game and Parks Commission public land managers recently were honored for their work in quail restoration and management. Mike Remund and Brad Seitz each were presented the National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative’s National Fire Bird Conservation Award at Game and Parks’ Oct. 22 meeting in North Platte. Fisheries Involved in Honored Projects

LINCOLN, Neb. – Omaha’s Metropolitan Area Planning Agency recently received a 2013 Innovation Award for the Carter Lake Water Improvement Project from the National Association of Development Organizations. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission was among 16 agencies and organizations in Nebraska and Iowa involved in the project to improve water quality and recreation in the 315-acre lake.
