Lost His Favorite Rod

This post has nothing to do with Nebraska, or fishing in Nebraska.

It does have everything to do with fishing, and is a great story.  Give it a read!

If you have fished for a while, you might have a story or two about lost fishing rods.  Off the top of my head, a couple come to mind, funny, both from ice-fishing.  One of them, Grove Lake never did return.  The other, we could see the buoyant handle of the rod bouncing along under the clear ice.  It kept moving because the monster fish was still pulling it.  It took drilling a couple, three quick holes, but eventually my son, nephews and I were able to grab it.  Landed the fish too, a monstrous 6-inch bluegill!

But, chances are if you lose that favorite rod in the lake, whether it has your name on it or not, it is gone!

Have a great weekend and remember to hold on to your fishing pole!
