I recently had the opportunity to observe and be a part of a very interesting and fun event in Schuyler. Lonnie kit, founder and CEO of QC Supply in Schuyler, asked that I speak to his employees and families at a very unique event!
For the last eight years Lonnie has hosted a “Hunters After Hour” event on the Thursday before the Saturday deer firearm opener. He provides a fantastic meal and door prizes. An interesting twist requires attendees to wear hunter orange or camouflage to register for the door prizes!
Turn out is spectacular in spite of the many conflicting family activities. I was able to spend a few minutes making the guests more familiar with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) and the many responsibilities we have each day.
After being peppered with questions, mainly about deer hunting, I was able to introduce my two small Munsterlander hunting dogs. They were a great hit with the many youngsters in attendance as well as the a significant contingent of upland and waterfowl enthusiasts.
All in all, I really enjoyed the entire event and was very impressed with the efforts and enthusiasm that Lonnie and his employees exhibited at the celebration of our firearm deer opener!
Thanks Lonnie for letting me be a part of your event!
