Walgren Lake SRA Temporarily Closed to Waterfowl Hunting

LINCOLN – Walgren Lake State Recreation Area in Sheridan County has been temporarily closed to waterfowl hunting, effective immediately, because of the intentional placement of grain on private property, creating an area of influence for waterfowl.

Nebraska and federal laws do not allow the hunting of waterfowl on or over a baited area. Waterfowl hunting may resume 10 days after the bait is gone from the area.
