LINCOLN, Neb. – Conservation Reserve Program public informational meetings are scheduled across the state in May so landowners can learn about the May 20-June 14 Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general signup.
CRP offers stable financial incentives for less productive acres, small fields and odd-shaped areas within productive fields. Now is an excellent time to enroll in CRP through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Rental rates have been updated in your area and some county rates have increased significantly. You have the flexibility to choose from different programs and practices to find a custom solution for your less productive areas.
The meetings are free and no registration is required. The following is a list of meetings by date:
May 9 – Lincoln, UNL Extension Service, 444 Cherry Creek Road, 2:30 p.m.
May 15 – Fairbury, Union Bank and Trust, 1313 K St., 9 a.m.
May 16 – Wilber, UNL Extension Service, 306 W. 3rd St., 2:30 p.m.
