Valentine Youth Fishing Clinic Set for May 4

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Nebraska Walleye Association and Valentine Lions Club will conduct a youth fishing clinic on May 4 at the Valentine State Fish Hatchery.

Registration is at 9:30 a.m. and the clinic starts at 10 at the hatchery northeast of Valentine. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children. Free rod-reel combos and tackle boxes will be given to the first 100 registrants. Lunch will be provided.

Participants will learn about knot-tying, fish identification, water and boating safety, and other fishing topics before fishing one of the hatchery ponds stocked with rainbow trout.
