Deer Hunters Have Two Resources to Donate Venison

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission reminds hunters that there are two programs that support deer donation in Nebraska: Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) and the Deer Exchange. HHH pays for the processing of whole field-dressed deer that hunters donate at any HHH processor, and the Deer Exchange program allows hunters to sign-up with the exchange to find individuals who have also signed-up and want to receive venison. LINCOLN – Twenty-one meat processors will participate in the 2014 Hunters Helping the Hungry program. Administered by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Hunters Helping the Hungry provides ground venison to Nebraskans in need. LINCOLN – Nebraska deer permits are now available for purchase. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission asks hunters buying their permits to consider also making a tax-deductible donation to Hunters Helping the Hungry. Founded in 2012, Hunters Helping the Hungry allows for the distribution of venison to Nebraskans in need. During the state’s various deer seasons, hunters can donate deer at participating processors.
