Branched Oak SRA to host Community Fishing Event morning of July 9

Spend a post-holiday Saturday morning fishing with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission on July 9 at Branched Oak State Recreation Area. Game and Parks will hold a Community Fishing Event at Liebers Point from 9 a.m. to noon. Community Fishing Events provide opportunities for people of all ages who have never fished or have not fished in years to learn and enjoy the activity. Learn ice-fishing at three events in January

LINCOLN, Neb. – Anglers can learn the basics of ice-fishing or pick up a few new tips from experienced anglers at three Discover Ice-Fishing clinics this month. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Youth Fishing Program will host two on-ice events and one classroom event. From 1-5 p.m. Jan. 15, the Nebraska Fish and Game Association will host a classroom clinic at Kearney’s Yanney Heritage Parks Environmental Resource Center. LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has canceled the Discover Ice-Fishing Clinic scheduled for Jan. 11 at Holmes Lake in Lincoln because of a lack of safe ice. It will not be rescheduled. A similar event is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Kearney’s Fort Kearny State Recreation Area Lake No. 6 from 8 a.m.-noon. Two fishing events at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake cancelled

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Community Fishing Night and Discover Catfish Fishing events scheduled for June 18 at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake have been cancelled because of the threat of thunderstorms. The fishing events, which were planned for 6-8 p.m. and 8-10 p.m., respectively, will not be rescheduled this summer. The next Community Fishing Night event at Holmes Lake will be Aug. 1. Community Fishing Night cancelled at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Community Fishing Night event scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake has been cancelled by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. Parking lots and the trail around the lake flooded after heavy rain brought the lake level up.
