LINCOLN, Neb. – In proactive state and national effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and ensure the health of its customers and staff, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is temporarily closing four facilities. Temporarily Closed Parks to Reopen April 18

LINCOLN – State park areas temporarily closed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission last fall will reopen April 18 – two weeks earlier than previously planned. The parks will reopen early because work crews reassigned from the closed parks completed their assigned projects ahead of schedule. The purpose of the closures was to redirect Game and Parks staff and resources from the closed areas in an effort to reduce the more than $40 million of identified deferred maintenance needs …

Many Activities Will Be Available in Temporarily Closed Parks

LINCOLN, Neb. – Despite the coming temporary closures at 29 Nebraska State Park areas, visitors will be allowed walk-in activities such as picnicking, bank fishing, photography, wildlife viewing, hunting and trail use from sunrise to sunset. The park areas will be gated and/or posted a short distance from the entrance.
