LINCOLN, Neb. – Schilling Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Cass County is closed temporarily to vehicle traffic because of soft ground caused by thawing. Closure will take place on a day-by-day basis until road conditions improve. Call the WMA at 402-296-0041 for more information or an updated recording on vehicle access. The WMA will remain open for walk-in access from the gate.

LINCOLN, Neb. – Recent rains have caused flooding on some wildlife management areas (WMA) in southeast Nebraska. Water is over the west road leading into Yankee Hill WMA in Lancaster County, resulting in the road closure until water recedes. The closure is in effect on a daily basis until water recedes. LINCOLN – Schilling Wildlife Management Area in Cass County is temporarily closed to public access. Rising water from the Missouri River has covered some of the area’s interior roads and low-lying fields. City of Plattsmouth officials expect the river to rise 3-4 feet in coming days.
