Visitors to Nebraska’s south-central state parks will notice several improvements this year. Projects completed in 2022 or to be finished in 2023 will appeal to an array of park users. Enders Reservoir SRA Extravaganza

Enjoy music, barbecue and many hands-on activities at Enders Reservoir State Recreation Area on June 25. The free daylong event will be near Area A Campground off Highway 61. Scout’s Rest Ranch earns National Historic Landmark status

LINCOLN, Neb. — Scout’s Rest Ranch at Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park has been designated a National Historic Landmark, for the significant role William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody played in the creation of the Wild West entertainment movement of the late 19th century. LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is seeking vintage photographs highlighting Nebraska parks for the Nebraska State Parks 100-year anniversary in 2021. The photographs will be featured in Nebraskaland Magazine and online throughout the year. Priority will be given to unique photos taken before 2000 that feature people enjoying outdoor Nebraska activities, such as boating, camping, hunting or fishing at our state parks and recreation areas. LINCOLN, Neb. – With many offices closed because of the coronavirus public health situation, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission encourages the public to purchase their park entry permits online prior to their outdoors excursions. Park entry permits are required for each motorized vehicle entering a state park, state recreation area or state historical park.
