LINCOLN, Neb. – Anglers can learn the basics of ice-fishing or pick up a few new tips from experienced anglers at three Discover Ice-Fishing clinics this month. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Youth Fishing Program will host two on-ice events and one classroom event. LINCOLN, Neb. – Fort Kearny State Recreation Area campground is getting an electrical upgrade, causing potential modern campsite closures through November. The update is being made to 26 non-electrical sites so each will be available for 50- , 30- and 20-amp service. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of November. LINCOLN, Neb. – People of all ages and skill levels now can enjoy guided horseback rides at Fort Kearny State Recreation Area. The rides, which became available Aug. 1, last one to two hours and feature a 3-mile trail winding through tallgrass prairie. Nine horses and three ponies are available.
