Wilderness survival expert, 22 year-old Sam Larson of Lincoln, NE will be the featured guest on this week’s Great Outdoor Radio Show.
If the name rings a bell, Sam Larson is one of 10 survivalists left in the remote Vancouver Island wilderness on the History Channel’s Alone Show. Sam and his fellow survivalists have to make it using what basic outdoor clothes they’re wearing plus 10 pieces of gear they have selected (no firearms) to be put in a small backpack. A stake is $500,000 awarded to the person who lasts the longest on the island which has a very inhospitable environment.
These individuals must build shelters, find food, deal with difficult weather and fend off large predators. They will endure extreme isolation!
Sam is well-traveled and always willing to share his outdoor skills, experiences and knowledge with others, especially youth.
