I am promoting it and proud to say that our family farm in southeastern Nebraska is enrolled entirely in conservation programs that benefit pollination!
I thought I’d throw in a fun “selfie” of me in our pollinator habitat, HA!
Seriously, pollinators play a crucial role in the reproduction of many plants, including many of the plants that provide our nation’s food, fiber, fuel and medicine. Animal pollinators, especially insects, are critical for producing of our food products. An estimated one out of every three bites of food comes to us through the work of animal pollinators!
But, despite their value, many pollinator species are in trouble. In an effort to fight population declines, many conservation organizations, including the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Nebraska Pheasants and Quail Forever, NRCS, etc., are working diligently with private landowners like us in the Wagner Family to establish and enhance habitat for pollinators through conservation programs and practices on our farms.
