Davis Creek Update

A few weeks ago I spread the word about some road work scheduled at Davis Creek Reservoir.  In the past week or two I started hearing some rumors about that project and then I saw an official update:

Davis Creek Recreation Area Road Closure Postponed

The road improvement project previously scheduled for Oct. 1 through December 21, 2023, at Davis Creek Recreation Area, is being postponed. No construction bids were accepted for the project to pave the access road through the popular recreation area south of North Loup.

A new round of bidding for the project will commence in early 2024, with tentative plans of the road closing for the paving project after Labor Day.

The shower house and fish cleaning station are closed for winter, but the campground is open. Reservations can be made through ReserveAmerica.com.

The Lower Loup NRD will continue to issue updates through regional media, social media, and the llnrd.org website as developments occur.

I know this news will not affect many of you, and even fewer this late in the fall.  On the other hand, the weather is still holding, and there is some fall fishing to be done yet.  If you wish, you will be able to do some of that at Davis Creek.
