Two Rivers dump station, campground to receive upgrades

Starting in October, Two Rivers State Recreation Area will see upgrades to its RV dump station and Fawn Meadows campground begin. The recreation area’s only dump station will be closed starting Oct. 3 for upgrades, with work expected to be completed in mid-2023. Fawn Meadows campground closed Aug. 2 so 12 sites can be upgraded. Two Rivers Trout Lake fish renovation completed

LINCOLN, Neb. – Lake 5 at Two Rivers State Recreation Area has been renovated to remove unwanted species that invaded the lake during the 2019 spring flooding, which connected the lake to the Platte River. The 9-acre lake, commonly known as the Trout Lake, was treated Aug. 17 with rotenone, a toxicant used to eliminate fish. LINCOLN, Neb. – The trout lake at Two Rivers State Recreation Area in Douglas County will open Saturday, March 6 for family fishing. The lake will be stocked with 10,000 11- to 12-inch rainbow trout in time for the opener. All trout caught in the lake must be harvested and not released. LINCOLN, Neb. – Due to damage caused by recent flooding, Two Rivers State Recreation Area’s Trout Lake will not be open for put-and-take trout fishing for the foreseeable future.
