Very Grateful

An Outdoor Challenge for 2015

Resolutions are popular this time of year, both in their making and breaking. I have a few annual resolutions myself: get organized and spend more time outdoors.  Ok…being as creative as I am about the placement and random storage of needed items, getting organized by the standard definition is a pipe dream.  But I do plan on increasing my time outside. And making it better, too, by measuring it differently this year.  I challenge you to do the same… How …

Gobblers, Largemouths, Morels and More in Less than a Week

Timing is everything when it comes to being successful bagging your quarry in Nebraska’s outdoor scene. But, one of the many reasons I enjoy the outdoor lifestyle in my home state of Nebraska so much is its tremendous mixed bag potential when the weather cooperates and wild things come into alignment. In less than one week I have managed to have success with targeting three major quarries with some added bonuses. I called in and shot two, big wild tom turkeys with the spring shotgun turkey season in full swing. I managed …

Donating Time/Talent to Outdoor Community

Yesterday, I participated in the way-too-much-fun Scheels Camo Classic Golf Tournament at Miracle Hill in Omaha to help bring attention to and benefit the Great Plains Pointer Rescue organization (www.greatpointers.org) It’s always a good thing to donate some of your time and/or talents to the outdoor community where/when possible! Time Outdoors in Summer is So Fun, Makes Cool Memories!

As this Independence Day Weekend of 2013 draws to a close, I got to thinking just how much fun spending time in the outdoors really is in summer and how cool the memories are! So, what I’ve decided to do with this blog post, is to share some of our Wagner family photos  (memories) from the weekend spent with my in-laws at their place on Kuesters Lake just east of Grand Island, NE. Here’s a photo of my wife Polly …
