Platte River State Park will celebrate its 40th anniversary Aug. 13 with a daylong event for the entire family. My Grandpa Bauer could pick up several instruments and play them, by ear.  I am told he and his brothers had a little band and played some barn dances and gigs like that in western Nebraska.  Man, what I wouldn’t give to hop in a time machine and travel back to listen to them play.  My Gramps Roth played the harmonica.
