Health Alert Remains in Effect at Harlan County Reservoir

LINCOLN – A health advisory remains in effect at Harlan County Reservoir in Harlan County after high levels of toxic blue-green algae were detected earlier this week. The elevated algae levels at Harlan County Reservoir were detected during testing by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. This is the second week a health alert has been in place at the reservoir. Two Nebraska Lakes Among Top 100 for Fishing and Boating

LINCOLN – Voters have selected two Nebraska lakes to a list of 100 family-friendly boating and fishing lakes in the nation. 2013 High School Bass Fishing Championship

Last Saturday was the 2013 Nebraska High School Bass Fishing Championship.  I know there has been a lot of talk about this on the internet and elsewhere already; might as well add my perspective. State High School Fishing Tournament Set for July 27

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska State High School Fishing Tournament will take place July 27 at Harlan County Reservoir near Alma. This third annual event is open to students in grades 9-12. Competition will be in teams, with each teaming having two anglers and a coach/boat operator. The event starts with a 6 a.m. rules meeting, followed by competition.
