Enjoy history, food at Fort Hartsuff SHP on July 15

LINCOLN, Neb. – Enjoy a day of history and food July 15 at central Nebraska’s Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park. A Dutch oven cooking demonstration will begin at 10:30 a.m., with three recipes available to sample. Humanities Nebraska will host a 3 p.m. program by author Jeff Barnes on his latest book, “Nebraska’s Landmark Buildings.” The park is located 6 miles southeast of Burwell in Valley County. A vehicle park entry permit is required.

Learn Dutch oven cooking at Louisville SRA

LINCOLN, Neb. – A Becoming an Outdoors-Family Dutch oven cooking workshop is scheduled for June 29 at Louisville State Recreation Area in Cass County. Learn all about preparing tasty outdoor meals in a Dutch oven. The event is from 6-8:30 p.m. at Lake 2’s Meisinger Picnic Shelter. All equipment will be provided. The fee is $10. LINCOLN – Enjoy an autumn day of fun and education for all ages Nov. 5 at Ponca State (SP). Take an introductory archery course from 9-11 a.m. using the park’s equipment. Participants must be at least 5 years of age. At 1 p.m., Critter Corner will introduce guests to wildlife found along the Missouri River.
