LINCOLN, Neb. – A health alert for harmful algal blooms, also known as toxic blue-green algae, has been issued at Rockford Lake in Gage County and Wagon Train Lake in Lancaster County. Willow Creek Reservoir in Pierce County remains on alert. The alert has been removed at Bluestem Lake in Lancaster County. Algae Alert Issued for Willow Creek Lake

LINCOLN – A health alert has been issued for Willow Creek Lake in Pierce County because high levels of blue-green algae were detected at the lake earlier this week. It is recommended that visitors to the lake, located on Willow Creek State Recreation Area (SRA), avoid full-body contact activities such as swimming, wading, skiing and jet skiing.
