Two fishing events at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake cancelled

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Community Fishing Night and Discover Catfish Fishing events scheduled for June 18 at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake have been cancelled because of the threat of thunderstorms. The fishing events, which were planned for 6-8 p.m. and 8-10 p.m., respectively, will not be rescheduled this summer. The next Community Fishing Night event at Holmes Lake will be Aug. 1. Heightened BUI awareness and enforcement campaign July 5-7

LINCOLN, Neb. – As part of a national effort to reduce the number of accidents and deaths related to boating under the influence (BUI), the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will participate in Operation Dry Water July 5-7. Willow Creek SRA regains full functionality

LINCOLN, Neb. – Willow Creek State Recreation Area is the latest state park area to regain full operations following spring flooding. Willow Creek, located in Pierce County in northeastern Nebraska, has 101 electric camping pad sites. All electrical service has been restored to the campground. Deadline for multispecies lottery permit applications is July 5

LINCOLN, Neb. – Hunters have until July 5 to apply for a 2019-2020 multispecies lottery permit. Two types of permits are available: Super Tag and Combo. The Super Tag permit is valid in 2019 and 2020 for one elk of either sex, one antelope of either sex, one deer of either sex, and two turkeys (only toms and bearded hens may be taken in the spring). Those visitors should always use caution when lighting fireworks.
