Keep kids active this summer at Outdoor Education Center day camps

LINCOLN, Neb. – Youth ages 8-14 can make the most of their summer by attending summer day camps hosted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center.

At these activity-filled camps, kids will have the opportunity to explore archery, campfire cooking, outdoor games and more. The following camps are accepting registrations:

— Learn to Hunt Camp (June 18-20; July 1-3): Students will learn the fundamentals of safe and successful hunting, including hunting techniques, firearm handling and marksmanship, species identification and more.

— Archery Academy Camp (June 25-27; July 9-11): This exclusively archery-focused camp will take students’ archery skills to the next level, whether they’re an experienced archer or have never picked up a bow and arrow.

— Outdoor Explorer’s Camp (July 23-25): This camp introduces a variety of outdoor programming for youth, from adventures and nature-based education to skill development. Activities include archery, firearms, fishing, hunting, hiking, survival skills, outdoor cooking and more.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center is a unique combination of shooting range and education center. It was developed in part to help young and inexperienced shooters develop their shooting and archery skills, and is known for its family-friendly environment, outdoor skills programming, and welcoming atmosphere for newcomers.
