Got a short note about access to one of our southwest reservoirs that I want to publicize before the weekend. Like many of these notes that I drop into my blog, this probably will not impact many of you, but if you are heading to Medicine Creek this weekend, you need to know:
Temporary detour set up at Medicine Creek dam
A temporary detour around the dam at Medicine Creek Reservoir in Frontier County is allowing the Bureau of Reclamation to complete a spillway project and road repair.
The road over the dam, which is undergoing concrete repair, will be closed for approximately two weeks. To access Medicine Creek State Recreation Area around the south side of the reservoir from Road 407, guests should take Road 725 to Road 728.
