I have found this week that it is “‘tweener time”. You know, that time between ice fishing, but maybe not quite open water yet. There was a spot or two I would have thought about fishing, but the ice was too thin to walk on, yet too thick to cast through. If we get some nice afternoons, it is definitely on!
In the meantime, might as well look through tackle, get gear ready and perhaps replenish some baits. I will confess, recently pulled the trigger on a couple of internet purchases. This flow chart shows my decision-making process:

Been hearing and seeing some reports of fish being caught. It is NOT too early. However, when the weather takes a turn, which it will dozens of times in the next few weeks, the bite might get a little tough. So, get on the water this weekend if you can! If not, never, ever, stop thinking about it!
