Sandhill Wetlands

A month ago I blogged about the Wetlands of Nebraska.  Shared a video about the different types of wetlands in Nebraska and their importance.  That video was just in introduction to a series of videos going into more detail about the different types of wetlands.

I want to return to that topic today and highlight one particular type of Nebraska wetland, sandhills wetlands.  Yep, there is another video.  This one longer and more detail, but you really need to take the time to watch it.  It is very well done, the videography is fantastic, and you will learn something!

I especially wanted to highlight this particular video.  Yes, there is a lot in it that does not deal directly with fish and fishing.  Then again, this video in particular points out the importance of fisheries management on sandhills wetlands.  Specifically, it addresses the importance of common carp management on sandhills wetlands for water quality, habitat, and the benefit of all wildlife in addition to the fisheries and anglers!

Again, let me mention Wetlands of Nebraska for even more information, and more videos, on this very important aquatic resource!
