It is the eve of the Labor Day weekend. I know many folks will be heading for the water this weekend, many of you looking to catch some fish. Some will be heading to Harlan County Reservoir and I want to pass along this update.
Saw this on the Harlan County Lake, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FaceBook page:
Good news, boaters!
Cedar Point low-water boat ramp is ready for use, just in time for the holiday weekend!
So, here are several reminders to keep in mind before you launch:
• The ramp is flat at this elevation — larger boats may need to back in further to launch.
• Posts have been put in place along the boat ramp to help guide your launch. Rock is in place along the side of the ramp to prevent erosion.
• Boat Dock depth is about 2’6” at the end.
• Parking is available in the paved lot north of the vault toilet or along the beach. Please avoid blocking the ramp or access road by parking in the east/west direction. We ask that you park in the north/south direction to ensure there is enough room for everyone who is looking to access the lake.
We’re excited to have this ramp back in action and can’t wait to see you out there enjoying some free time on the lake!
Remember to wear your lifejacket when on or in the water!
Water levels and boat ramp conditions vary across the state. Not going to tell you that you are going to get complete details for every boat ramp here, but this tool would be a great place to start:
There are some fish to be caught! Have a great holiday weekend and GO FISH!
