Aquatic Habitat Program projects completed in recent years are now providing excellent fishing at lakes around Nebraska.
Fishing
Nebraska Paddlefish Stocking
The twelve-inch paddlefish were stocked to offer anglers in central Nebraska a chance to snag or use bow and arrow on mature paddlefish.
Big Mac Pike
Low water levels in the 2000s at Lake McConaughy led to a boom in the northern pike population.
Spring Pike Spawn
Eggs and milt are stripped from the fish by stroking the fish from under the pectoral fins towards the vent where they freely flow out.
