Recently, a story about largemouth bass management was posted online by Nebraskaland magazine. I know some of you have seen that article already, but if you have not, I want to call attention to it. Please take a few minutes to read it!
Bigger Bass–Better Waters Ahead
I have always said that our management of largemouth bass in many Nebraska waters, especially in eastern Nebraska, is more about panfish management than it is bass management. The article does a good job explaining that.
Have also always said that anglers come in an infinite variety of sizes, shapes, motivations and desires. Often, we have the conundrum of trying to keep them all happy. On the other hand, we certainly do not, and should not, manage every fishery the same. Yes, that might make fishing regulations a little more complicated, but it can also make our fishing a lot better!
