We were planning to have an on-ice clinic at Flanagan in Omaha this coming Saturday. We are just now starting to get enough ice to fish, but may not have enough at Flanagan yet. In addition to that, ironically, it is supposed to be bitterly cold this weekend. So, regrettably, want to spread this word:
Discover Ice Fishing event at Omaha cancelled
The Discover Ice Fishing event scheduled for Jan. 24 at Omaha’s Flanagan Lake has been cancelled because of poor ice conditions and a forecast of dangerously cold temperatures.
There will be no makeup date.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Youth Fishing Program schedules these events each winter to allow anglers an opportunity to learn the basics of ice fishing or pick up a few new tips from experienced anglers.
