The title of this blog is posted as a question. As I write this a little ahead of time, do not know if I will be celebrating the “new year” yet or not? My new year starts the second the first fish is pulled through an ice hole on the first ice-fishing trip of the year. The actual date can be somewhat of a moving target, especially with our unpredictable weather.
I am hoping by this time the jig has been dropped and the first fish pulled onto the ice beside one of my ice holes. If it has, you can be sure I will give a report when I get back in the office.
If not, I may be a little bit grumpy waiting for colder weather and looking for safe ice. Either way, it will be a good year, and there will be fish caught. Hope you have a great one too!
