Youth Fishing Instructor Training

I try to brag up our youth fishing instructors because they are a tremendous asset to our fishing education programs!  For those of you who are NOT already one of our youth fishing instructors and are interested in becoming one, here is an opportunity:

Become a Certified Youth Fishing Instructor in Columbus Area

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will certify youth fishing instructors Aug. 30 in Duncan, Neb. The free workshop will be held at the Boystown Day School, 510 6th St., from 9 a.m.-noon. Duncan is 9 miles west of Columbus.

Youth fishing instructors will receive training and tools to conduct fishing clinics. These volunteers will have access to Game and Parks’ loaner fishing equipment and educational materials for events and will receive program incentives. They also are encouraged to volunteer for such Game and Parks programs as Family Fishing Nights and Outdoor Expos.

Space is limited. Contact Lindsey Chizinski by Aug. 25 at 402-471-5591 or lindsey.chizinski@nebraska.gov to reserve a spot in this workshop.
