It is a lot MORE than JUST fishing.

Got a video I have to share with you this Friday; take 5 minutes or so to watch it.  You will not be sorry.

As soon as you see the beginning, I know what you are going to think:  “Hey, that ain’t Nebraska”.

Yeah, whatever.  I have been to the place shown in the video; it is beautiful and the fishing is unbelievable.

But, that ain’t why I have to share this video.  No, listen to the young lady that is featured.  Listen closely to her, watch her, feel what she is feeling.  Again, some of you are going to think she is talking just about fly-fishing, but it is NOT just about fly-fishing.  Whenever she says “fly-fishing”, just hear “fishing”.  It is all good, it is all fishing.

To bring it back to the “theme” of our current fishing promotion, the “theme” of most of my blog posts the past couple of weeks–“It’s never JUST fishing”.

She absolutely nails it!!!!!  I can see it in her eyes, hear it in her voice, feel it in her emotions.  I know exactly what she is talking about, feel exactly the same way.  You could substitute Nebraska where she says Montana, but what she says about the fish and fishing is “right between the uprights”!  Extremely well said!

I have used this poem to describe it:

THE FISHERMAN’S AFFIRMATION

I will always be a fisherman. . .

It’s not something I do, it is who I am. . .

Fishing is not an escape. . . It is where I belong, where I am supposed to be. . .

It is not a place, but a lifelong journey. . .

It is a passage my father showed me, and that I will show others. . .

When you understand all of this, you will know me, and we will fish together.

–Author unknown

One last note:  In the video, other than the young lady, you hear and see exactly one other person.

He’s my nephew.

It’s never JUST fishing.

Have a great weekend every one and don’t forget to GO FISH!
