LINCOLN, Neb. – Platte River State Park’s shooting sports facility opens for its summer schedule on May 28. The Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex will be open weekdays from noon to 6 p.m., except it will be closed on Thursday. It will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Construction Begins on Wildcat Hills Shooting Complex

LINCOLN – Construction has begun on a new, family friendly shooting complex at Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area near Gering. The facility will be geared toward families of beginners and novices who want to learn, develop and hone shooting sports skills. 4-H Shooting Sports Nationals in Grand Island June 25-28

LINCOLN – Approximately 500 youth from across the country will compete in the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational in Grand Island on June 25-28. Events include compound archery, recurve archery, air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, shotgun, muzzleloading, and hunting skills. Coordinated by UNL Cooperative Extension, the competition will be held at the Heartland Public Shooting Park, 6788 W. Husker Highway. Youth and Parent Day at the Range Scheduled in Seward

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Seward County Izaak Walton League, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and Seward County Pheasants Forever will host Youth and Parent Day at the Range on June 8. This free event will take place from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Seward County Izaak Walton Cabin, just south of Seward.
