LINCOLN, Neb. – James Simpson of Wayne hit 35 of 40 targets to win the overall championship Sept. 29 at the Nebraska Youth Smallbore Silhouette Invitational at Pressey Wildlife Management Area south of Broken Bow. Pressey WMA target range to be temporarily closed

LINCOLN – The target range on Pressey Wildlife Management Area in Custer County will be temporarily closed Oct. 22-23 for the youth upland bird hunting season and Oct. 29-30 for the opening weekend of the statewide upland bird season. The closure is a safety measure being implemented because of the increased number of hunters expected on the area during those weekends. Pressey is located 17 miles south of Broken Bow.

LINCOLN – Kylie Krivohlavek of Seward was the overall champion of the Nebraska Youth Smallbore Silhouette Invitational for the second year in a row, hitting 35 of 40 targets. The event took place Sept. 24 at Pressey Wildlife Management Area south of Broken Bow. Pressey WMA Closed to Target Shooting on Oct. 25-26

LINCOLN – The shooting range at Pressey Wildlife Management Area will be temporarily closed during the opening weekend of pheasant season, Oct. 25-26. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is concerned for the safety of hunters in this area. Many hunters are expected to hunt the prime upland game habitat south of the shooting range.
