Hunters Should Be Wary of Cattle at Oak Glen WMA

LINCOLN, Neb. – Spring turkey hunters are reminded to close all gates at Oak Glen Wildlife Management Area in Seward County, as cattle will be grazing on the northern portion of the 633-acre area beginning May 1, weather permitting. Grazing is a grassland management tool that will increase the growth of legumes and forbs, improving the native prairie for grassland species. Oak Glen WMA is located 1½ miles north of Garland. The spring turkey season closes May 31.
