LINCOLN – The public is invited to join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission for Northwest District Birding Day on June 4 at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area (SRA) in Cherry County. Birders will depart from the Cedar Bay boat ramp on the southeast side of the reservoir at 7 and 8:30 a.m. Group birding will continue until 11 a.m., but individuals may extend their birding into the afternoon. LINCOLN, Neb. – Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area will begin taking reservations for select sites in the Cedar Bay, Beed’s Landing and Boardman campgrounds starting May 28. The reservable sites are: Cedar Bay (24 sites) – Electrical sites: A-Cedar, B-Cedar, D-Cedar, E-Cedar, G-Cedar, H-Cedar, L-Cedar, N-Cedar, P-Cedar, R-Cedar, S-Cedar, V-Cedar, W-Cedar and AA-Cedar.
