Louisville floating playground closed for season

The floating playground at Louisville State Recreation Area will not reopen for the season after the inflatables sustained damage during an incident in mid-August. Eight of the playground’s 70 floating pieces were damaged Aug. 11 and became partially submerged. During inspections and repair of that damage, additional damage requiring repairs was discovered. Louisville SRA’s Floating Playground to reduce days of operation

Louisville State Recreation Area will reduce the days the Floating Playground is open to Saturday and Sunday only starting the week of Aug. 8, staff permitting. The Floating Playground sessions are at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., and each session is 90 minutes. The park hopes to operate the Floating Playground on weekends through Labor Day. Louisville SRA electric campsites to get upgrade

LINCOLN, Neb. — Louisville State Recreation Area campground is getting an electrical upgrade, causing potential electrical campsite closures into November. The update is being made to 27 sites in the Cut-Through Campground and Venture Lane Campsites so each will be available for 50-, 30- and 20-amp service. Louisville Lake 1A fish renovation completed

LINCOLN, Neb. – Lake 1A at Louisville State Recreation Area has been renovated to remove rough fish, especially silver carp. Lake 1A and Lake 1, which will be renovated the week of Sept. 13, were invaded by unwanted species during the 2019 spring flooding of the Platte River. The 1-acre Lake 1A was treated Sept. 8 with rotenone, which is a toxicant used to eliminate fish. The lake was found to contain more than 200 silver carp of at least …

LINCOLN, Neb. – River access for kayaks and canoes remains closed for safety reasons at Platte River State Park, Schramm Park State Recreation Area and Louisville State Recreation Area, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
