River access for paddlers closed at lower Platte River park areas

LINCOLN, Neb. – River access for kayaks and canoes remains closed for safety reasons at Platte River State Park, Schramm Park State Recreation Area and Louisville State Recreation Area, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. The lower Platte River along these park areas in Sarpy and Cass counties is experiencing above-normal flows.

High river flows close Riverview Marina SRA, Indian Cave SP boat ramp

LINCOLN, Neb. – Riverview Marina State Recreation Area (SRA) in Nebraska City and the boat ramp at Indian Cave State Park near Shubert are closed to the public until further notice due to high flows from the Missouri River. In addition, the high water from heavy recent rains have put the boat ramps out of service at Wagon Train and Bluestem SRAs in Lancaster County. Commission to consider recommendation June 22 for mountain lion season

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will consider a staff recommendation to approve a proposed 2019 mountain lion season when it meets June 22 in Ogallala. LINCOLN, Neb. – A Becoming an Outdoors-Family Dutch oven cooking workshop is scheduled for June 29 at Louisville State Recreation Area in Cass County. Several State Recreation Areas Affected by High Water

LINCOLN – Heavy spring rains have led to soggy conditions at three state recreation areas in Nebraska. Louisville, Two Rivers and Dead Timber state recreation areas, all of which are adjacent to rivers, have all been affected by high water levels.
