LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is giving young anglers in southeastern Nebraska an opportunity to catch some larger channel catfish. LINCOLN – Jenny Newman Pond at Platte River State Park is undergoing a renovation that will include the addition of Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant walks, improved fishing access and interactive ponds. While there will be no direct impact to the Cottonwood, Choke Cherry 1 and Choke Cherry 2 cabins near the pond, the area behind them will be under construction.
